A rainy forecast and a chilly day weren't enough to stop the Jumbos on Friday as more than 110 friends and alumni came out for our annual golf tournament. Our hosts at Brookmeadow Country Club did an excellent job of preparing the course and helping to make sure the event ran smoothly. The course played tough this year with some tricky pin placements, a few fairway obstacles (including a 30 man grounds crew rebuilding hole ), and it was made even harder by the weather conditions. However that didn't prevent our top 3 groups from posting impressive scores. Coming in third place with a combined score of 57 were Tom Walsh '89, Donnie Leach, Rich Deslongchamps, and Mike Roscoe.

Our second place group made up of Bill Carroll, Billy King, Russell O'Brien, and Bob Kenny Sr. also combined for a score of 57.

And our champions of the 2017 Tournament with a combined score of 56 Bryan Egan '15, Nick Martinez '14, Bob Ling, and Biff Crowley.

Not everyone faired so well in the tough conditions. Our last place group of Joe Ferrera, Dave Gerard, David Radlo, and Bob Lederman came in with a score of 63. They were awarded a dozen golf balls and a pair of swim trunks so they can go get their balls when they hit them in the water!

Close friend of the program and avid Jumbo Baseball supporter Bryan Wing won the closest to the pin contest knocking his shot to 6'8".

Brian Shapiro bombed one down the fairway to win the long drive contest.

We also handed out our annual True Jumbo Award. This years recipient was Adam Kacamburas '04. Kac has been a close friend to the program since graduating, has served on the golf committee for several years, and always steps up to the plate when the Jumbos need him.

On Saturday a small but fervent group of alumni showed up to take on the 2017 squad in our annual Alumni Game. The alumni came out victorious this year by a score of 6-4. Max Freccia's 2 doubles and 2 RBIs and Andrew Davids 3IP 2R 5K earned them co-MVPs for the Alumni Squad.
