#4 Moment of 2017 -- Varinos and Falkson Honored with NESCAC Awards


Senior tri-captain Speros Varinos capped off his NESCAC Career by securing his second consecutive NESCAC Pitcher of the Year award. Varinos finished the season with an 8-1 record, a 1.98 ERA, and a tied the Jumbos single season strikeout record with 86. He finishes his career with an 18-2 record which gives him the best career winning percentage in Tufts baseball history.

Junior Nick Falkson was honored with the NESCAC Player of the Year award after a breakout 2017 season for the Jumbos. Falkson led the Jumbos with a .373 batting average and hits with 57, he also scored 37 runs and drove in 43. Falkson looks to lead middle of the Jumbos offense again in 2018 with fellow senior Tommy O'Hara.

Joining Falkson and Varinos on the All NESCAC Teams were Tommy O'Hara, Oscark Kutch, Will Shackelford, and Coach Casey.
